Off-piste no more

– Great (bath) goggles for dry eyes

Ski season is here! Not for me the black runs of Courchevel or Val D’Isere; in fact, there’s no need for me to leave my inner sanctum – or even my bathroom – to hit the slopes.

MetM9Wearing my new bath goggles from The Baby Catalogue, I look cool and stylish when the snowstorm comes in – all those fluffy white bubbles and whooshing water. The protective plastic eye shields and soft, stretchy strap mean that I’m not phased by any of it – not even a little shampoo can make me lose my balance.

In fact, my mum’s such a pro that she’s made the treacherous and windy paths of hairwashing little more than a downhill slide on the green run.

And apres-ski? I’ve always been a fan of a little tot. Some warm milk in my lovely chalet, I’m mean, cot.

What Moi says:

When it comes to practical bath accessories, this is the Mont Blanc of products – the ultimate bath accessory for avoiding soap in Mini’s eyes.

Make sure you have only dry eyes in your home with bath goggles (SSP £5) from The Baby Catalogue.

The Cream of the Crop

100% Natural Baby Skin Care range from Culpeper

metmx_8dec_1It’s never too early to introduce your little one to history, but, before you come clean about your historical limitations, brush up on the story of the fabulous baby skin care range from the 17th Century Apothecary, Culpeper.

You can spout on about the father of modern herbalism while Junior makes history kicking up a lather with the baby bubbles and soap.

And the lessons need not stop there.  With dusting powder, lotion, nappy cream and massage butter, Junior will be a fountain of knowledge by bedtime.

All getting a bit serious?  Then bring Junior back to the modern day with a rendition of 5 Little Ducks, accompanied by the Culpeper rattle duck.

Herbs and spice and all things nice, that’s what Culpeper babies are made of!

What Mini Says:

With all this knowledge, I’m bound to go down in history!

metmx_8dec_2The 100% Natural Baby Skin Care range by Culpeper has been especially developed for your baby, but is also perfect for sensitive skins of all ages. Squeaky Clean

– Best bath products for babies (and their mums)

Make bath time fun time with these natural lotions and potions, made with love and care by the eco-conscious Burt’s Bees.

Indulge Mini in a buttermilk bath before working up a bubbly lather with the matching soap and shampoo bars. Afterwards, prolong the pampering with an apricot baby oil (or lotion) massage, followed by a puff of powder and a dab of diaper ointment.

Relaxed and as clean as a whistle, she’ll drift into a deep slumber, convinced that you’re the bee’s knees!

But beware: To avoid Mini getting a bee in her bonnet, it’s probably best to not come clean and admit that you use it at bath time too…

What Mini says:

With this beauty regime, I’ll be as busy as a bee!

Burt’s Bees products for Babies (and Mums) are available online and at John Lewis.

Rub-a-Dub-Dub

– Brilliant Bath Seat for Babies

Rub-a-Dub-Dub.

Creme de la MereYou may not have three men in the tub, but sometimes you really could use the extra hands. (Let’s face it, not just at bath time.)

The bathing bambino has only just learned to sit, so in theory it should be a lot easier. Only, you need one pair of hands to ensure he doesn’t slip, and another for the entertainment – in the form of a rub-a-duckie – and a third for, well, the business of bathing.

Bathing BambinoWith the Safety 1st Swivel Bath seat, bathing is a lot easier. It’s generously sized making it easy to get into (and out of). Four suction cups secure the ring to the bath, so your little prince can sit like a king and, well, hold court.

So what will you be – the butcher, the baker, the candlestick-maker? Maybe just the Court Jester.

What Mini says:
Court Jester? Well, there certainly is a lot of clowning around at bath time.

The Safety 1st Swivel Bath Seat costs £11.99 and is available from The Baby Catalogue.
