London-LeavesCindermouse at the Little Angel Theatre

  • Travel to the land of mice where hardworking little Cindermouse finds love in the arms of a Prince.  Reminiscent of the Cinderella story, this enchanting and humourous tale is a classic Little Angel production brought to life for a whole new set of young theatre-goers.

Wonderland at the V&A Museum of Childhood

  • Until 10 January 2010
  • A magical exhibition of contemporary artwork portraying fairytales, myths and legends from around the world.
  • The exhibition will include work inspired by well-known European tales, including the much-loved favourites like Hansel and Gretel by the Brothers Grimm, and The Ugly Duckling by Hans Christian Andersen, as well as folklore from other continents.

metm9Face Painting at Climbers and Creepers in Kew Gardens

  • Weekends in October and daily during half-term (Sat 24 October – Sun 1 November) from 10.30am to 3.30pm
  • Head over to Climbers and Creepers to get your face painted, as part of our Autumn festival.
  • Choose from lots of animal and tree-inspired designs.
  • Prices: £4 per face, £7 for two!

 

Autumnal Storytelling at Kew Gardens

  • Near the Xstrata Treetop Walkway
  • Every Saturday and Sunday during October with sessions run at 11am, 1pm, 2.30pm
  • Join our storyteller on a wander around the area near the walkway to hear enthralling tales. Sessions last 45-60 minutes.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Prices: Free once inside Kew Gardens, but sessions must be booked (see below).

Now You See It – Cafe gallery projects

  • Saturday 10, 17, 24 October at 10am -12am
  • A series of three workshops for children and young people, concentrating on developing observational drawing skills. Using the magic, trickery and illusions from our current ‘Now You See It’ exhibition as a starting point for improving looking and drawing. ‘Now You See It’ features new work by emerging Artists’.
  • Children (over seven) and teenagers
  • No admission although donations are welcome.

“Witch & Wizard Fashion Design Competition” at Victoria Library

  • October 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25
  • What will the the best dressed Witch & Wizard be wearing this Halloween? Could you design an outfit for them? This competition is open to children of school age (5-16yrs). There will be four age groups with a winner from each and one overall winner. All entrants will receive a certificate, the winners will receive a prize.
