- Family Friendly Café in the Heart of Battersea
With a bit of forethought, a day’s shopping doesn’t have to end in sore feet (You), boredom (Junior) and tears of exhaustion (probably Both). End your retail adventures at this haven, and you’ll both head home thinking happy thoughts.
The pink neon light announcing Crumpet is a welcome sight to a weary and caffeine-deprived Moi (and bored-to-tears Mini). Inside is a modern tearoom offering a wide selection of teas (brewed to your taste) and an exciting menu of cakes, salads and sandwiches. And crumpets!
What really makes this place a mum’s heaven on earth is its range of child-friendly features. The mega-friendly staff have thought of it all for you (like bottle warmers, a child friendly menu, and pram park).
And a children’s play area – so Junior can philosophise with his peers while you collect your thoughts.
Or, if you’re keen to share your thoughts with friends, indulge in the Champagne High Tea.
With tables spilling out on to the pavement on Northcote Road, you’ll need to decide whether to bask in the sunshine or relax indoors.
Now that’s food for thought.
What Mini Says:
Oi, Crumpet! I’ll have a babycino and a crumpet in the play area.
Crumpet is at 66 Northcote Road, London, SW11 6QL (Tel.020 7924 1117) and is open from 9am – 6pm on Monday to Saturday and 10am – 6pm on Sunday.

Nearly £6 for a small bacon sandwich. A good place to buy food if you want to just give money away.
